Integration of JUNO simulation framework with Opticks: GPU accelerated optical propagation via NVIDIA® OptiX™

Opticks is an open source project that accelerates optical photon simulation by integrating NVIDIA GPU ray tracing, accessed via OptiX, with Geant4 toolkit based simulations. A single Turing architecture has been measured to provide speedup factors exceeding 1500 times threaded a full JUNO analytic geometry automatically translated from the geometry. Optical physics processes of scattering, absorption, scintillator reemission and boundary are implemented within CUDA OptiX programs on implementations. Wavelength-dependent material surface properties as well inverse cumulative distribution functions for interleaved into textures providing fast interpolated property lookup or wavelength generation. In this work we describe major recent developments facilitate integration framework including collection effciency hit culling which substantially reduces both CPU memory needed hits copying overheads. Also progress migration all new 7 API described.
